Yesterday was a banner day. Only one other Swedish male in my family has made it to sixty three and that revered one only for a month. I never anticipated getting this far. I have had a plan all of these years but it did not include getting to sixty three so yesterday was a dividend.
I sat and thought of how I should spend these bonus days and as I was pondering, the plan worked itself out. The days will be filled with music, poetry, good food, good wine, and reading. Are these boring? Not to me.
Today seemed to start off with a validation of this agenda. I awoke to Eos gently lighting the room and birds singing outside. I put more sunflower seeds in the squirrel feeder I made while sipping coffee on the porch. I fired up the computer and it worked! Just as the computer's internal organs seem to have rectified themselves, as they would have to, so have mine. The malaise I have experienced for the last few days seems to have disappeared.
Today will be violins, Frost, port, and pork chops with rice and mushroom gravy. I think I will try to tackle Sophocles again. I recently tried to re-examine Aristotle but he is to much for me to grasp. I just fall asleep. It is like reading the History of Canning Jars.
I have only one goal left to reach but it is complicated and I am sure it will never come to fruition. It involves plum trees.
So much for plans, I am off to the library! What makes God laugh? A man with a plan.

Congratulations, Dad! You made it! I'm sorry you weren't feeling well this weekend, but I hope we can find a time soon to come down and have some strawberry shortcake with you. We'll bring the fixin's.
