It is O.K. to breathe out now. Kristen was kind enough to post Rix's progress. Any time something bad happens to a child it seems WRONG! Adults are adults and things happen to them but to have something happen to a child is wrong. It is hard to express concern in such a situation without using trite and maudlin expressions but the feelings that are there are genuine. The purpose of life is children, their care and nurturing. Adults are simply DNA's way of reproducing itself. Every creature on the planet will endanger itself to ferociously defend its offspring. Wouldn't it be nice if mankind treated all children this way instead of just their own? There was a song that had the phrase "I believe that children are the future" and the phrase that Sting used " the Russians love their children too". Both concepts offer some hope. The purpose of mankind was stated simply "Be fruitful and multiply.". That statement includes no reference to self-actualization, IRAs, or SUVs. Mankind has come a long way but still has a long way to go.
