Getting old

I never guessed that getting old was going to be so easy. I never knew that it was going to be so enjoyable. I will add those to the list of things I never knew, page 143, volume 27.

i love your blogname! Did I ever tell you that I didn't actually get that joke until I was 20? I believe it was one of those (many) times when I just started laughing out loud, and everyone around me had no idea what was funny.

(And I know about the roast beef & beef stew effect on men. How do you think I got D to date me in the first place? (Ha ha))

I have to tell my boy about your blog name! He was so proud to learn that joke and tell it to you. :-)

There is snow all around. I went walking in it yesterday. Everything seems so quiet and pure. This is my favorite time of year. Winter is new and the heat of Summer is no longer. The heat is controlled by a little brain on the wall. The ambivalent days of November are gone. It is pleasant to turn down the heat to a point where the wolf at the door is trying to get out and snuggle under a quilt and glory in the privilege of having a warm place to sleep. Getting up in the morning knowing that hot coffee is coming starts the day so pleasantly. I will walk today, I want to go to the library and get the book with the recipes for roast goose and plum pudding. The local market has frozen geese. It is something I have always wanted to try. I had roast goose once in a Polish restaurant with creamed cabbage and carroway seeds. As I remember it was quite good and gives one a nice supply of goose fat. Then comes cassoulet maybe.

I didn't get the joke until I WAS DRIVING SOMEWHERE through Carver and looking at cranberry bogs and it hit me- i was alone so the laughing didn't look weird to anyone. But it was always something I was proud to know the answer to, without really thinking why.

Ok, write some new stuff! Because you already have more comments than I get with an average post! And I so so miss your perspective on things, anything, because it is home. Ya' know?(I try not to speak like that because for a long time I was lecturing the kids about sounding like Georgia mountains worm farmers, and it turned that there was one in the family....heck, I am the worm farmer in this family! I miss you, write every little thing you think, we'd love to hear it. Love you:) (Do you know your word verification is 8 letters long? And mine is kbdmzvwt? And I've had several Newcastles?
